Moon

2022

Description

Inspired by the halo of light from a full moon reflecting in the lenses of our eyes, ‘Moon’ is an athletic and gentle quartet, interweaving elements of breakdance and floor work with contemporary partnering and movement. It is a reflective look at the symbolism of nature, cycle, and the emergence of self.

More than a performance, 'Moon' serves as a moment of collective reflection. Through its fluidity, the work mirrors the harmony and tension within us as we grow and evolve. The music, created in process with the choreography, fulfills the synesthetic part of me as an artist. I see sound, and hear movement, and the sound score is an essential part of the reflection and nature's constant presence, beginning with a tender motif and ending with an enveloping and ebbing blanket of sound. 'Moon' offers audiences a space to contemplate their own emergence and how they reflect and respond to their environments and the broader cycles that influence us all.

... an intimate glimpse into an alternate reality...
